Setting up Multifactor Authentication (MFA) with the Microsoft Authenticator App

On your desktop, find the shortcut for Outlook OWA – O365 and open it.

On computer:

After logging in, find your picture in the top right corner and click on it

• Click on View account
• Another tab will open. Along the left side, click on Security info
• Click on

      

• In the drop-down menu, select Authenticator app and then click Add
• It will tell you to start by getting the app. Click Next

On your phone:

Locate your app store (Apple) or Play Store (Android)

• Search for Microsoft Authenticator and install it. It is free.
• After you install it, open the app.
  • Allow Authenticator to send you notifications – Allow
  • Microsoft respects your privacy – Accept
  • Help us improve Authenticator (you don’t have to check the box) – Continue
• Add work or school account

On your computer - Click Next

On phone - click scan a QR code

• Allow authenticator to take pictures – While using app
• Camera will open. Hold it up to QR code on computer. It will scan.

On your computer - Click Next

• Computer will give you a number.

On phone – Enter number and click yes.

On your computer - it will say Microsoft Authenticator – Notification approved. Click Next.

Green box will appear on computer screen saying it is registered.
